Mamta Singh

My name is Mamta Singh, I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful girls, 4 year old Serophina and 1 year old Saioa. They keep me on my toes and between the two of them, there is never a dull moment in our house. I am originally from Dallas, Texas but have lived in amazing places such as Alaska, Hawaii and now Coastal North Carolina. My husband and I have been together for 12 years and thought we lived pretty adventurous lives until we became parents! I consider myself a foodie, always open to new and different culinary experiences. If I could live at a Starbucks, I would. I am a terrible procrastinator but deep down I’m a meticulous organizer. I enjoy my job as CEO of my household but before that I was a Corporate Educator for Blue Cross Blue Shield Hawaii. I was very fortunate to have the option of staying at home with my daughters and now receive my paycheck in the form of hugs & kisses! Some other things I love: travel, reading, live music, planning parties and spending quality time with friends and family! Like other moms, I do my best to provide a healthy, stimulating and loving environment for my kids and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!

Thankful

This year, we started a new Thanksgiving tradition – the Thankful Tree. I have loved it. Not only does it look pretty awesome on my fall mantle, but it has continuously reminded us of the things for which we are thankful. The kids are so excited every night at dinner to come up with that day’s contributions to the tree.So here are some of the things for which the Reese family is thankful this year (in no particular order) –Our family – Daddy, Mommy, Nathan, Emily, and JoshuaOur new houseHeavenly FatherJesusPrincesses (guess who added this one?)Teddy bearDaddy’s jobScripturesBedsSnuggle PuppyHealthPrayerSnuggly friends (everyone’s teddy bears, blankets, puppies, dogs, you name it)Grandmas …

Our Thankful Tree

I love Thanksgiving. The food is amazing, the weather is usually crisp and cool, and Thanksgiving Day is the official start to the Christmas music season around here. All of these things make me happy. Especially the food. I’m daydreaming just thinking about it.

The one thing that occasionally gets lost around here amidst all of the tasty goodness, though, is the reason we celebrate Thanksgiving. And while I’m happy that the Pilgrims and Native Americans in Massachusetts made friends that first year, I mean the modern reason – to remember the things for which we are thankful.

To help the kids get excited and thinking about being thankful, we’ve started a …

Thankful For Tangled and Turkey

This year on Thanksgiving there was an event happening that was bigger than the Turkey. (gasp!)

Serophina and I have been looking forward to seeing Tangled, the Disney movie about Rapunzel. Ever since we caught a preview of the movie a while back, we’ve been anxiously awaiting its arrival. Because we didn’t host Thanksgiving this year, we practically had the whole day to ourselves!  We had a leisurely morning, I made my two side dishes that I was taking to a friend’s house for dinner, and then we headed out to watch our movie.

It was wonderful! It’s one of those that we’ll have to own when it comes out on DVD …

Thankful

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I started thinking about all the things for which I’m thankful.  Here are some of the highlights, in no particular order –

The lovely weather we’ve been having lately – I think I’ve only worn my coat once this season!
Joshua’s textbook arrival and health
My station wagon which not only has enough room for all three kids and trunk space to go to Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart in the same trip but also has power locks …

Counting My Blessings

There's a lot to be happy about!

I’ve kept a journal ever since I can remember. It’s always been like therapy to me and I like feeling light inside after I’ve unloaded everything onto paper. Every now and then I’ll run across an old journal and read through all the entries. Here’s a page I found where I had made a list of all the good things in my life and titled it “Counting my blessings.” I think I’m going to keep it out and refer to it whenever I’m feeling down. Here are some things I am thankful to have:

1. Good parents who love me and raised …
