Fending off kisses at 6 months old
“No more kisses, Mommy! Too many kisses! No more!”
At first when Isaac said this to me I thought aww how cute, but now that he says it every time I kiss him, I get a glimpse of him as an older child, a sulky teenager perhaps, who won’t let his mom give him some sugar. No! I am not ready for that! Get back here, sweet little toddler, and stay this age forever, please!
Luckily Isaac is still small enough that I can steal kisses whenever I want despite his protests, which I do often, and on some special occasions …

Love at first sight
As I mentioned earlier, my mom watched Isaac for almost two straight days so I could celebrate my sister’s 30th birthday with her. Bless your heart, Grammie! We all had a blast, thanks to you!
However, once party time was over and the dust had settled, I heard the full story of all the fun my son had with his grandmother, and most of it was the kind of fun that I do not allow / do not normally do. Now it was nothing terrible or endangering, but still, it threw me off, but then I realized that there is no way …

Happy b-day aunt Emily!
Yes, that’s right, and it was awesome! However, I did miss Isaac, but have decided that once in a while it’s ok to take some “time off” without the boy, considering he is almost 2.5, haha.
Last weekend it was my little sister’s 30th b-day, so it was kind of a big deal. Her boyfriend went all out and took her to New Orleans for a couple days, and then her friends and I celebrated more with her when they got back.
My mom was a trooper and volunteered to watch Isaac for most of the weekend, which I was not expecting but …

Crawling through a hollow log
Yes, we have found yet another amazing and educational activity to check out in Maryland. It figures all the ones we are discovering lately are when we are visiting my family up North; I need to find some cool ones closer to home!
Isaac and I were trying to figure out what to do one morning because lovely MD is usually about 10-20 degrees colder than NC, so needless to say we would not be doing our usual Saturday morning plan of taking a walk or hike. Brrr! Then a friend called and suggested we meet her and her kids at this place …

Don't mind me, I'm just a cute little froggy watching you get dressed
Sounds ridiculous, right? I mean, the child is 27 months old here, so it’s not like I am parading naked in front of a teenager!
However, the other day Isaac’s reaction to me was a little funny, to say the least, so now I am rethinking my morning routine. Normally I go in and get him dressed for the day, then take him back into my room while I get dressed because it’s easier for some reason, and usually Isaac plays happily with a box of toys and reading material under my nightstand.
Until now…today I …
Arg, why can’t we live in Arizona where they do not subscribe to DST? (Prepare for pointless rant against something I have no control over)
Back in the day, as in before Isaac, I loved getting that extra hour of sleep each fall, because who doesn’t want that, really? And each spring I was alright with losing that hour because it was getting warmer and brighter so I couldn’t be too grumpy. Now that much-appreciated and much-needed extra hour is not extra at all, living with a toddler who wants to be up all the time and party like the rock-star that his mom is definitely not!
Usually waking around 6:30, Sunday …
