This post is more of a call for help and ideas. Unofficially, we are dealing with an upcoming divorce in our family between my parents. It’s not like we haven’t dealt with this before, Austin’s parents divorced each other during the first year of our marriage. The only difference is we didn’t have children that were old enough to understand what was going on.
Now, my three older children are big enough to know that their grandparents are married. They know that they live together and that they love each other. Sadly, they will soon divorce and I’m afraid this will leave my children wondering what happened, how it happened, why it …

To say that Isaak keeps me on my toes, would not do justice his mischievousness, holy moly. I can honestly say that NONE of my children have been as “creative” as Isaak is. Let me give you just a few examples of the fun surprises he has for me on a daily basis.
The kid is obsessed with lotions and creams. To be safe, anything that comes in a squeezable bottle needs to be put up really REALLY high. Higher than just high because the kid is a master at dragging over chairs and stools to reach the items he has been forbidden to touch.
I’ve found him sitting in front …
I have mentioned in past posts about how I have been attempting to mold Isaac into a water baby like I was, with a decent amount of success, considering the fact that these swimming lessons have taken place only in his baby tub and our big tub.
We finally braved the whole new world of indoor pools last weekend with my mom and Marissa at the local YMCA. I was hesitant at first because of the chemicals in the water. Being a lifeguard I know how quickly the pH or the chlorine levels can fluctuate if not regulated closely. This can cause the water to become either too full of these chemicals and irritate the skin and eyes, or too low in certain …
Even though my home is now under complete baby lock down, Sayle has once again outsmarted the Warden. Baby gates, new coffee tables with rounded edges, pocket doors, and cabinet locks are not nearly enough to keep my child safe, now I am going to have to nail my furniture to the floor or wall…like they do in prison. Read my first post: “Welcome to Baby Alcatraz”

Sayle's favorite jungle gym
I have this lovely little table in my hallway, it has very ornate rod iron with a perfectly stained top-one of my favorite peices of furniture I own. I keep a plant we were given as …
This video is a prime example as to why we live on Baby Alcatraz. Sayle has been keeping a close eye on the doggie door. He documented the times the doggie door is usually open for business and exactly how the dogs use it. When the opportunity presented itself, Sayle tried to make a quick break for the land of freedom, aka-the back deck. Unfortunately, the Warden was sitting close by (with a video camera) and the dogs were on the other side telling him that door was the only thing in the house that wasn’t his. Obviously, Sayle is taking everything in and figuring things out!
I thought I had a few years before I had to worry about him …

Sayle loves the bathtub. He loves being in the tub and splashing in the water. In fact, he loves the tub so much that even when he isn’t taking a bath, he crawls into the bathroom and pulls up on the side of the tub to bang on it. Then he leans into the tub to the point where his little feet aren’t touching the tile floor anymore. We now keep the bathroom door shut.
Sayle has recently figured out how to open the cabinet doors and slam them …
