Mamta Singh

My name is Mamta Singh, I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful girls, 4 year old Serophina and 1 year old Saioa. They keep me on my toes and between the two of them, there is never a dull moment in our house. I am originally from Dallas, Texas but have lived in amazing places such as Alaska, Hawaii and now Coastal North Carolina. My husband and I have been together for 12 years and thought we lived pretty adventurous lives until we became parents! I consider myself a foodie, always open to new and different culinary experiences. If I could live at a Starbucks, I would. I am a terrible procrastinator but deep down I’m a meticulous organizer. I enjoy my job as CEO of my household but before that I was a Corporate Educator for Blue Cross Blue Shield Hawaii. I was very fortunate to have the option of staying at home with my daughters and now receive my paycheck in the form of hugs & kisses! Some other things I love: travel, reading, live music, planning parties and spending quality time with friends and family! Like other moms, I do my best to provide a healthy, stimulating and loving environment for my kids and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!

Spring Break or Bust!

They haven't seen B since she was tiny!

All of our bags are packed and we are ready to go! I have always been amazed at the amount of things I consider a necessity when going on a trip, but Braylin has me beat by a long shot! For such a tiny human being she requires a lot of stuff to get through a week away from home.

I have practically packed everything that the child owns… just in case! I think it is harder to pack when you are driving somewhere, because you feel like you have more room than if you were to fly somewhere. …

Let’s get our move on.

The time is fast approaching for our family to pack up and move on out of the Jacksonville area. We’ve lived here three and a half years, enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, but must move on to Charlie’s next duty station.  I suppose the saying is true:  ”Home is where the Marine Corps sends us.”

Charlie and I moved here a week after our wedding.  We hardly brought anything with us because we hardly had anything in our name.  The couch we were using was the piece of furniture my parents bought themselves right after they were married over thirty years ago!  Thankfully, we’ve been able to upgrade since we’ve moved in.

Packing for Baby’s First Trip

We hope Owen likes his first plane ride.

We are headed to California this week and it will mark Owen’s first plane ride and our first real vacation as a family.  I’m mildly anxious about having a baby on the plane but it will be worth it to get to visit our friends and family.  For the plane ride my husband is on “team entertain the baby” while I will be on “eam feed and hold the sleeping baby”. We hope that our son behaves but there are no guarantees.

I started a list a couple of weeks ago so I will hopefully not forget anything essential.  As …

What Every Mom Should Take On a Trip

Nora's ready to travel

Nora's ready to travel

Garrett and I have always been the traveling kind of people. I usually over-pack; especially when it comes to packing for Nora. However, over the past few trips I seem to have forgotten something essential nearly every trip. So now I have my –essential, must pack list that might come in handy for you too, if you’re traveling, this holiday season.
1.  Desitin or A&D Ointment. I never know when Nora is going to get a diaper rash. It’s inconvenient and costly to have to rush out and buy another tube so I make sure to bring ours from home.
2. Nose suction. I …
