Mamta Singh

My name is Mamta Singh, I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful girls, 4 year old Serophina and 1 year old Saioa. They keep me on my toes and between the two of them, there is never a dull moment in our house. I am originally from Dallas, Texas but have lived in amazing places such as Alaska, Hawaii and now Coastal North Carolina. My husband and I have been together for 12 years and thought we lived pretty adventurous lives until we became parents! I consider myself a foodie, always open to new and different culinary experiences. If I could live at a Starbucks, I would. I am a terrible procrastinator but deep down I’m a meticulous organizer. I enjoy my job as CEO of my household but before that I was a Corporate Educator for Blue Cross Blue Shield Hawaii. I was very fortunate to have the option of staying at home with my daughters and now receive my paycheck in the form of hugs & kisses! Some other things I love: travel, reading, live music, planning parties and spending quality time with friends and family! Like other moms, I do my best to provide a healthy, stimulating and loving environment for my kids and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!

Monkey Joe's was awesome!

Serophina was so excited when I told her what was happening. We started driving down our country road with the windows down and our favorite VBS songs blasting through the speakers and already we were having a crazy grand time.

And then there were brief patches of sudden, waterfall-like rain, which thankfully we survived…but other …

NO Noise Allowed During Nap-time

Should I just post this sign around the neighborhood?

I remember when Serophina was a baby and into the toddler years, how challenging it was to create a noise-free environment that would allow her to stay asleep. I remember being a Noise Nazi during naptime, shushing everyone that spoke louder than a whisper, making sure all windows were closed so no outside noise would wake her up, scolding my husband for slamming the doors or even for having heavy footsteps. Nap time in our house meant quiet time for everyone.

Now that we have Saioa and she naps twice a day, I’ve noticed that the Noise Nazi in …

Ladies Who Lunch (And Bring Their Kids)

Mom, this would look better on your shirt.

Morehead City recently opened an Olive Garden and my friends and I were dying to try it out. Living here you have your choice of country diners that spell their “country” with a “K” or outdated chain restaurants that still reek of cigarette smoke (love you No-Smoking Law!) In other words it’s slim pickins when it comes to dining out. But now that we have Olive Garden all our problems have been solved.  Seriously, the thought of breadsticks alone is enough to make me drool a little.

We went for lunch one day and all together we were three adults and …
