This is what it looked like, no joke.
It’s summer and a lot of us are traveling with our kiddos and those of us who have already played the travel game with kids know that preparation alone can be a huge accomplishment.
With all the traveling I’ve done with Serophina, I feel like I’m qualified to right a book about how to travel with kids. I’ve had mostly good travel experiences with her and one really bad one.
It was when we lived in Hawaii, she was only five-months-old and we took a MAC (Military Aircraft, I think that’s what it stands for?) flight. I’m sure my military friends can …

Everything's right with the world
I’ve come up with new nicknames for my kids, Peace and Purpose.
It’s amazing how when babies come into the world, they bring with them feelings of peace and wholeness. Babies bring families together. Babies heal broken hearts and give someone reason to be better and do better. Babies can turn around the most wearisome day with a single smile.
I’m in awe at the way Saioa has brought peace into our lives. Not that we were anxiety ridden before her, but we would easily get caught up in the stresses of everyday, forgetting to enjoy the little things in life.
One day as I was …

you can go shopping in my closet
Before Saioa was born we went up in the attic to get down all of our baby stuff that we had from when Serophina was born. When we were done unloading, we had two extra large bins and three regular size bins full of clothes and toys…..and these were just for ages newborn through 12 months!
In addition I got new clothes for the baby at my baby shower, plus I was getting boxes full of clothes from family members almost every week.
What to do with all these clothes?!! Each and every one of them is so adorable, but if I put Saioa …

It's fun 24-7 now!
Hello visitors….. goodbye schedule!! As of last night I have a house full of people, chatter and laughter. My parents, cousin and nephew arrived from Texas and it’s a whole new ball game in my house now!
I have to remind myself that old schedules go out the window when there is a change in dynamic like this. For example, I normally would’ve had Serophina eating dinner at 6pm and getting ready for bed by 7:30pm. Now that my nephew is here (aka her best friend in life) she hasn’t a care in the world and all they want to do is PLAY!
In the hustle …

I love my ducklings.
They say that being a Mother is the hardest job on earth, when it’s done right. More and more I have to agree with that statement.
Serophina is a bright and energetic little girl and I’m finding it harder and harder to keep up with her! Just like any kid, she has the stamina that would put any Olympic athlete to shame. Thank God she goes to preschool twice a week, because I think she would get really bored at home with me all the time.
I don’t let her watch too much TV. for several reasons. The first one, obviously being that it’s just not …

We're flexible snoozers.
The most common thing I get asked nowadays is which child was more demanding as an infant, Saioa or Serophina. Mostly I think I’ve just made up an answer because I’m embarrassed to admit that I don’t remember exactly how it was when Serophina was a baby.
Don’t get me wrong, I remember the good times, but as far as sleepless nights go, I only remember one night where I was at my wit’s end because she wouldn’t stop crying.
I know that can’t be right though. It must be my Mommy Brain blocking out the rest of the sleepless nights and zombie days. …
