This is perfect sleeping weather if you ask me.
Why don’t kids ever want to admit when they’re tired? Ever since Serophina’s been old enough to talk she’s been telling me that she’s not tired. Of course that’s code for “I need to sleep like it’s nobody’s business!”
This past weekend it snowed 6 inches. That’s a big deal for us, so first thing in the morning we got ourselves bundled up to go outside and enjoy our snow covered surroundings. It was a beautiful sight. The sky was clear, the sun was bright and the snow was flawless and sparkly. We walked around the neighborhood, Serophina and her dad …

The Saioa and Serophina Show!
Sometimes I wish I was on a reality t.v. show… not for the fame and fortune, but so that I would have every moment in my kids’ lives documented. Serophina says the most adorable things and it’s not unusual for us to sit in astonishment as such profound thoughts come out of her mouth.
You know how when something funny happens and later on you try to describe it to someone but it doesn’t sound nearly as funny as when it happened? That’s how it is with us when something cute happens the first time around. I’ll run and grab the video camera and …

Are we there yet?
There are many things I love about kids. They are innocent and fearless at the same time, can find an adventure in anything, have so much love it can barely be contained, make friends instantly and have giggle fits over nothing.
They also ask a lot of questions, so much so that I can’t decide if it’s because they really want to know or they’ve figured out that it’s an effective torture method for parents. Sometimes they’ll ask you the same question over and over and over and over again. That’s always a lot of fun, especially if you’re trapped in a car with them …

Michael and Oscar wait for birds to eat from the pinecone.
Michael loves to play with our neighbors, Jimmy and Joey, and all their toys in their sandbox. Luckily for me, Michael rarely climbs into the sandbox. Rather, he stands on the outside and reaches in to play with the toys. This prevents him from becoming covered with sand from head to toe.
Sarah, my neighbor and friend, insists that I invest in a sandbox for Michael and Maeve to play in, but I fear the sand that the kids will track into the house. Instead, I discovered another product that will satisfy Michael’s need to dig and load his …

It was like this but with more kids!
Ahhh, as I reminisce about this story I’m about to tell, my heart is not filled with warm and fuzzy thoughts, but rather internal giggles at how petty some people are.
Let me just give you some background about me, I DON’T like confrontation. It’s not very often I have issues with people that would put me in a confrontational situation in the first place, but even so I would just do my best to avoid, avoid, avoid!
We were at the mall recently, in the children’s soft play area and it was so crowded with kids that it was almost …

Mom, it's my turn to win!
As of a few months ago, Serophina and I have added a new activity to our bedtime routine. After she gets in her jammies and before we read a book, we play a couple of quiet games. Usually it’s a card game, she has Princess card sets for Old Maid and Go Fish. She also has Bingo, Tic Tac Toe and Checkers among many others, but our favorite pre bedtime game is Old Maid. I might have had a hand in that since it’s the easiest, the quietest and the shortest.
Serophina is a lot of fun to play cards with because she’s …
