Mamta Singh

My name is Mamta Singh, I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful girls, 4 year old Serophina and 1 year old Saioa. They keep me on my toes and between the two of them, there is never a dull moment in our house. I am originally from Dallas, Texas but have lived in amazing places such as Alaska, Hawaii and now Coastal North Carolina. My husband and I have been together for 12 years and thought we lived pretty adventurous lives until we became parents! I consider myself a foodie, always open to new and different culinary experiences. If I could live at a Starbucks, I would. I am a terrible procrastinator but deep down I’m a meticulous organizer. I enjoy my job as CEO of my household but before that I was a Corporate Educator for Blue Cross Blue Shield Hawaii. I was very fortunate to have the option of staying at home with my daughters and now receive my paycheck in the form of hugs & kisses! Some other things I love: travel, reading, live music, planning parties and spending quality time with friends and family! Like other moms, I do my best to provide a healthy, stimulating and loving environment for my kids and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!

The Kissing Queen

Too busy trying to kiss the lady beside me to smile for a picture!

Somehow we have managed to create one of the sweetest children I have ever been around. I may have mentioned this before, but a phase that she is going through right now makes it even more evident. At least I hope it is a phase because her Daddy will be quite upset if Braylin continues puckering up to everyone that she meets into her teenage years.

It all started with trying to teach her “thank you” in sign language. Right off the bat she started blowing kisses instead (the two are very similar). …

Play Areas at Fast Food Places

Drive thru I guess!

One of our favorite places to go for a quick weeknight dinner is Chick-fil-a. It’s right down the road from where Serophina takes Karate, so we often end up there after class. It’s great because we like the food and they have a play area that the girls love to play in.

When this particular Chick-fil-a opened up in our town about two years ago I was not at all hesitant to let Serophina play in the play area. It was brand new, therefore clean and free of the usual grossness that lurks on every surface of a fast food playground.

I’ve never let Serophina play …

Baby, It’s Cold Outside

We went outside for a quick picture, then right back in!

I don’t know about you all, but I am a wimp when it comes to cold weather. Growing up in Florida, I didn’t have to deal with it very often and even when it was “cold,” flip flops were still acceptable. As for snow, it is completely foreign to me. Cold weather in North Carolina means two things to me, certain parts of my body go numb and everyone seems to be sick.

This past week, it was bitterly cold and it snowed quite a bit (in my opinion). Braylin and I only left the house a …

A Trashy Hobby

Isaac loves trash, or rather anything that contains trash, such as trash cans, diaper pails, and recycling containers, to name a few.  Lids do nothing to stop him or even slow his breach of germ security.

My little Oscar The Grouch is mesmerized by trash cans, in particular.  The word “no” does not mean a thing when we are talking trash cans…He will go to great lengths to stalk the one in our kitchen while avoiding my eagle eye.

I LOVE trash!

The boy is crafty though; he lurks in the area until he sees me momentarily distracted and then races for the great container of goodness.  If Isaac is …

Sterilizing Baby Toys

Squeaky clean!

Ever since Saioa has been old enough to grab things and put them in her mouth, I’ve been a little concerned with how often I should be sterilizing her baby toys. She drops them about a hundred times a day and when I think about all that treads our carpets… shoes, dog paws… and the places those shoes and dog paws have been….I start to get a little grossed out.

I’m not a psycho germaphobe that has to sanitize every five minutes but I do wonder how often I should be sterilizing those baby toys that she likes to explore by putting in her mouth.

Another thing I …

Shopping Cart Cover

Who knows where these shopping carts have been.

I have to admit I used to think that the padded shopping cart cover made for babies was excessive.  Why can’t the baby just sit right in the cart?  Is it really necessary to pad all the surfaces that baby touches?  I grew up sitting in the shopping cart and I turned out okay.

So you can probably see where this blog is headed, yes, I got a padded shopping cart cover this week.  I don’t want my baby touching the handle that who knows who has been touching.  He has his hands in his mouth all the time and …
