Mamta Singh

My name is Mamta Singh, I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful girls, 4 year old Serophina and 1 year old Saioa. They keep me on my toes and between the two of them, there is never a dull moment in our house. I am originally from Dallas, Texas but have lived in amazing places such as Alaska, Hawaii and now Coastal North Carolina. My husband and I have been together for 12 years and thought we lived pretty adventurous lives until we became parents! I consider myself a foodie, always open to new and different culinary experiences. If I could live at a Starbucks, I would. I am a terrible procrastinator but deep down I’m a meticulous organizer. I enjoy my job as CEO of my household but before that I was a Corporate Educator for Blue Cross Blue Shield Hawaii. I was very fortunate to have the option of staying at home with my daughters and now receive my paycheck in the form of hugs & kisses! Some other things I love: travel, reading, live music, planning parties and spending quality time with friends and family! Like other moms, I do my best to provide a healthy, stimulating and loving environment for my kids and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!

A Florida Christmas (Part 2)

Santa loves her too!

If you didn’t catch Part 1, Braylin was an excellent flyer!  Well, there was a tiny mishap, but I didn’t realize that it happened until we were off the plane.  Once we arrived in Florida, I overheard the flight attendants in the restroom talking about the baby that threw up all over the front seat.  I looked on my shoulder and had it all over my arm… oops.  Poor Braylin, she must have been air sick.

As bad as I felt about her getting sick, there was nothing I could do at that point.  So, I moved on to more important things …

Flying with Baby

Flying with baby was easier than I expected.

We just took our first flight with baby from North Carolina to California.  I have been worried about this flight since I booked it months ago.  I didn’t want to be “that” woman with the crying baby.  I felt like I would have no control of the situation if Owen was crying and I couldn’t get away from people.

Strangely the hardest part turned out to be getting through the security trying to hold the baby, take off my shoes, and move all my stuff into the X-ray machine.  Up until last week I thought I would by traveling alone …

Flying with Nora

Nora looking out the plane window

Garrett and I flew to New Mexico for Christmas this year. This was Nora’s first plane ride. I was very nervous and didn’t know what to expect. I talked to my girlfriends, got some tips and felt relatively prepared to fly.

Garrett and I drove to the Raleigh/Durham airport and only needed to stop twice for Nora. When we got to the check-in counter the airline employee asked for Nora’s birth certificate. “Why do you need that?” I asked, slightly panicked.  We had not brought it and if we drove home and back we’d definitely miss our flight. The airline …
