“Tubes are no big deal, I promise.”
Every friend of mine whose child had tubes said that exact statement to me when they found out Sayle was getting tubes.
“The procedure is actually harder on you than it is on them” was the usual follow up.
I believed what my friends told me, but as a mother, I was still worried. Our road to getting Sayle tubes was long and painful. Sayle had MANY ear infections; the final ear infection was coupled with snot coming out of his tear ducts. We were all ready for Sayle to have tubes, but we were going to the hospital for the procedure and he had to be given anesthesia-I didn’t like either of those scenarios.

As soon as Sayle became mobile, I started finding household and personal items in random places. I would find shoes in the fireplace, toys where they didn’t belong, and other various reminders that there was someone else in the house who felt things needed to be placed differently.
Most of the time I find Sayle’s antics pretty amusing; I can’t help but laugh when I find one of my cooking pots perfectly balanced on my bed frame. But, I also find this little game annoying at times, especially while I’m tearing the house up looking for my cell phone as I’m trying to leave the house only to find it stuffed in his Little People’s Barn or my husband …
If you forget the stroller while shopping at a store where they don’t have carts, you’re in trouble. We own two strollers and usually keep one in the back of each of our cars. I say usually because I have been caught without Sayle’s stroller while running errands and my life immediately starts sucking the moment I realize I don’t have the stroller. You don’t really appreciate the stroller until you need it. Personally, I hate folding and unfolding the stroller and battling Sayle while I’m buckling him in; but at the same time, I fully appreciate the stroller in that it keeps Sayle comfortable while I’m shopping and …
I was emailed this video and the headline read “BOOKS FOR CHRISTMAS?” I clicked the story to read about a three year old who was given books for Christmas and apparently wasn’t very happy about it. A video was attached to the story so of course I had to watch the video to see what the big deal was.
The little guy was obviously unhappy about books for Christmas and exclaims, “Books???! Books for Christmas?? What da heck is that? I don’t get books for Christmas!” As he stomps around a small portion of the living room a Wii is in direct view of the camera (apparently appropriate for Christmas) and he furthers his opinion of books for Christmas by saying, “Poo! …
What does it mean when babies and toddlers pull their ears? Some will tell you it is because they are teething. Some will tell you they do it because they have an ear infection. Some say kids do it because they are tired and others will tell you they pull their ears because they have a sore throat. And some will say it means that it is going to snow. Regardless, everyone has their theories on what pulling on the ear means.
It has been in my experience when Sayle pulls his ears it could mean any of the above and nothing at all at the same time…but I still keep a …
I wanted to share with you what Sayle bought me for my birthday this year. He was extremely thoughtful while purchasing my much needed mommy gift, especially considering he is the reason why I am in such need of this wonderful wardrobe staple.
He bought me a Victoria’s Secret Miraculous Bra and let me tell you-there has been a Christmas miracle in my house all month! Now that I own a few of these bras, the miracle is going to continue past the Christmas season! This bra is AWESOME for all women, but especially for a mom who has breastfed.
“The girls” (if you know what I mean) go through so many …
