Mamta Singh

My name is Mamta Singh, I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful girls, 4 year old Serophina and 1 year old Saioa. They keep me on my toes and between the two of them, there is never a dull moment in our house. I am originally from Dallas, Texas but have lived in amazing places such as Alaska, Hawaii and now Coastal North Carolina. My husband and I have been together for 12 years and thought we lived pretty adventurous lives until we became parents! I consider myself a foodie, always open to new and different culinary experiences. If I could live at a Starbucks, I would. I am a terrible procrastinator but deep down I’m a meticulous organizer. I enjoy my job as CEO of my household but before that I was a Corporate Educator for Blue Cross Blue Shield Hawaii. I was very fortunate to have the option of staying at home with my daughters and now receive my paycheck in the form of hugs & kisses! Some other things I love: travel, reading, live music, planning parties and spending quality time with friends and family! Like other moms, I do my best to provide a healthy, stimulating and loving environment for my kids and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!

If you have not read this kids book, I definitely recommended it for all ages; even adults will giggle and of course it has a good message at the end.  The book is officially called “Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,” not Isaac, but I usually can rely on my creative license…

It all started with a bite.  A decent sized set of teeth marks on Isaac’s innocent baby arm.  Once that happened my mother’s intuition should have known that it was downhill from …

Biting

Children who bite others cause a great deal of concern for the parents (and have been for some of our own bloggers!). The parents of the child who has been bitten are also usually very concerned about infection. Biting is an unacceptable behavior that needs to be stopped at an early age to prevent further occurrences.
Why young children bite:
Although biting is fairly common in young children, it is often worrisome to adults. A family member, playmate, or classmate at daycare or preschool may be the one bitten. Biting can be painful and frightening when it occurs. It upsets other children and often angers teachers and other adults.

Biting is usually caused by one of …

Attack Of The Baby Land Shark

One evening Sayle and I were playing on the floor.  He loves to crawl to me, then crawl away, then crawl back.  Sayle finds this little game seriously entertaining and puts himself into hysterics while crawling around.  After crawling to me a few times and crawling away, he crawled back, leaned over and bit me.  I screamed “ouch” which resulted in a big grin from my “baby land shark.”

Sayle's Latest Baby Picture

Being bitten by Sayle was initially shocking to me as he has never been a biter before.  He had grabbed my fingers and tried to put them in his mouth, but babies …
