Mamta Singh

My name is Mamta Singh, I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful girls, 4 year old Serophina and 1 year old Saioa. They keep me on my toes and between the two of them, there is never a dull moment in our house. I am originally from Dallas, Texas but have lived in amazing places such as Alaska, Hawaii and now Coastal North Carolina. My husband and I have been together for 12 years and thought we lived pretty adventurous lives until we became parents! I consider myself a foodie, always open to new and different culinary experiences. If I could live at a Starbucks, I would. I am a terrible procrastinator but deep down I’m a meticulous organizer. I enjoy my job as CEO of my household but before that I was a Corporate Educator for Blue Cross Blue Shield Hawaii. I was very fortunate to have the option of staying at home with my daughters and now receive my paycheck in the form of hugs & kisses! Some other things I love: travel, reading, live music, planning parties and spending quality time with friends and family! Like other moms, I do my best to provide a healthy, stimulating and loving environment for my kids and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!

Creepy Toys

I was going to use a picture of Chucky, but I couldn't do that to everyone!

I think I may have been exposed to the movie, “Chucky” too early in life. Frankly, I don’t know that any age is appropriate for that movie. Anyway, since I watched that movie there are some toys that I haven’t been able to look at the same way. The other night, I was reading in the living room when I kept hearing this beeping noise (it sounded like a car horn was coming from the hallway). I went to investigate the situation and I found a toy car in B’s room …

I Hate My High Chair

At least someone likes the high chair.

I am really tempted to take advantage of “The Great Trade-in” that Babies R Us is offering right now.  I hate almost everything about the high chair that I have and want a new one so badly.  Despite this great opportunity, I can’t justify spending money on yet another baby item when I already have one that has only been used by one other child.

Here is what I want in a high chair (the one I have was a gift, but I probably would’ve picked it myself since I didn’t know any better at the time):

1.  Washable seat cover.  Yes, …

Buy Used… Save the Difference

Relaxing in her cheap swing!

Call me irresponsible or lazy, but I have never been a bargain shopper.  That is, until Braylin came along (babies really do change EVERYTHING).

In the past, if there was something that I wanted or “needed,” I would buy it without thinking twice.  You would find this to be very evident if you took a glance into my closet (which is filled with clothes that I cannot wear right now and purses that have been replaced by a diaper bag).

Now, I am clipping coupons, waiting for sales, and (my favorite) buying used items.  I recently heard a saying, “Buy used and save the …

The Bouncy Seat

When Nathan and Emily were little, we never bought one of the bouncy, vibrating chairs.  A good friend loaned us Nathan’s swing and activity gym.  We bought an activity gym for Emily, and I think my mom bought a swing as well.  I always thought that those chairs looked like a good idea, but I just never got around to getting one.

This time around, we received a number of gift cards for baby presents.  I decided it was time to acquire a seat since I wasn’t even spending my own money.  Now, five months later, I’m wondering why on earth I didn’t get one with Nathan and Emily.

This seat is …

Picky Palate

It happens every time I walk through the grocery store.  I get that itch.  I go down the baby row and I just stand there and stare at all the fun little baby food.  All the meals and snacks call my name for me to buy them and try them out.  All the jars reach out for me to take them home.  I always see all these cute moms feeding their adorable babies wearing bibs, making airplane noise and wiping their messy mouths with the spoon.  I want to be that mom!  I want to feed my baby!  Sometimes I give in and I load my cart up with …

Don’t Stop Using Your Pacifier!!!

Let me start off by saying I’ve never had a kid who sucks their thumb or uses a pacifier, not until Gus.  Gus was my first child to actually be really addicted to his pacifier.  It started out as his thumb, but he moved on to the paci after about a month or so and he had to have it with him at all times.

If I was ever caught without a paci, I’d be in big trouble.  He needed it in the car, he needed it to sleep with, he needed it to play with, he needed it at every minute of every day and to be quite honest …
