Ashley Mozingo

Hi everyone! My name is Ashley, and I am a stay at home mom to two girls, Paislee, 3 and Keely, 1. My husband is in the Coast Guard, and is currently stationed at a Coast Guard unit on Camp Lejune. We have been married for five years now and have spent two of those years in Alaska, where Paislee was born, and two in Maine, where we had Keely. We were lucky to get stationed here in 2012, and call North Carolina "home". We were both born and raised in different cities in eastern North Carolina, and we are super excited to get to spend some time here with our girls and introduce them to some of our favorite places that we had as children. Before I met my husband, I attended East Carolina University, where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Communications. I have a love for writing, and a huge passion for being a mom, so I am thrilled to have the opportunity to write about my experiences and exciting moments of this rocky ride that we all call 'Motherhood'.

Baby Girl Dreams

This weekend, I went to a friend’s baby shower. Like many of my friends, she’s pregnant, and I’m so happy and excited for her. She, however, is having a girl. And I have wanted a girl for so long! That shower was making my baby girl dreams get so much bigger.

As she unwrapped the cute little clothes, and bath robes, and hair bows, it reminded me of how much I want a little girl to put in those things. It made me think of the names I’ve had picked out, and how I had to work hard to not be disappointed when Wyatt was a boy. (Don’t judge me.)

I love my two boys. I wouldn’t take them back if it meant I could be guaranteed a girl; I really mean that. And they’re both so much fun, Ben especially. But that hasn’t stopped me from dreaming of when I can hopefully have a little girl of my own.

I honestly don’t know why it is I want a girl so badly. I just know that I do. In an ideal world, I’d have several more children, and they’d all be girls! If in my next pregnancy, I got pregnant with twin girls, it would be like hitting the jackpot. Of course, as we all know, pregnancy is not a delivery service. It’s not like I can order up the number and gender I’d prefer.

I keep feeling like I want another baby, and I’m trying to wait until at least the one year mark to start again.

Do you have baby fever?

I would have to agree with you that buying clothes for little girls is SO much funner! I just bought the cutest outfit for my little sweetie at They even have matching headbands to go with their outfits so I can get everything in one shot. I love it.

They are so much cuter! And there’s so many more of them. Every story here, the girls section is three times as big as the boys section. It drives me crazy!
