Ashley Mozingo

Hi everyone! My name is Ashley, and I am a stay at home mom to two girls, Paislee, 3 and Keely, 1. My husband is in the Coast Guard, and is currently stationed at a Coast Guard unit on Camp Lejune. We have been married for five years now and have spent two of those years in Alaska, where Paislee was born, and two in Maine, where we had Keely. We were lucky to get stationed here in 2012, and call North Carolina "home". We were both born and raised in different cities in eastern North Carolina, and we are super excited to get to spend some time here with our girls and introduce them to some of our favorite places that we had as children. Before I met my husband, I attended East Carolina University, where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Communications. I have a love for writing, and a huge passion for being a mom, so I am thrilled to have the opportunity to write about my experiences and exciting moments of this rocky ride that we all call 'Motherhood'.

New Things

Abigail has learned some new things these past couple of days. First of all she can now drink from a juice box all by herself. This also goes for those little pouches of fruit puree that kind of look like capri suns. This is awesome because she is even more independent while eating now. Her other new thing is building with blocks. She loves to build! She used to just knock everything down but now she is stacking them. It’s so cute.

She has a couple new words. She says shoes which is probably her best word. She can say goat and she knows that chickens go “bawk bawk.”

She has tried chocolate (other than oreos) and of course loves it. Probably should have avoided that until the last possible minute. She is pretty good at running. Whenever I pick her up from daycare she always runs into my arms. Sometimes she trips but she just picks herself back up and continues.

She can walk up and down the stairs without help. She still hates having her hair in any sort of pony tail which is why I had to cut her bangs. I’m still optimistic that one day she will change her mind.

Abigail is constantly growing and learning. It’s one of my favorite parts of being a mom.
