Cassy Fiano

Hi everyone! My name is Cassy Fiano. I was born in Jacksonville, Florida. My husband and I met when we were twelve, at a birthday party where he fell on the pool deck and broke one of his front teeth. I worked in several different fields until I got married. My husband and I knew that we wanted to have a family and that when we did, I would be a stay-at-home mommy. Last July, we found out I was pregnant, and on the day of my first doctor’s appointment, he deployed to Afghanistan. Unfortunately, during my pregnancy, I ended up with preeclampsia. Luckily, my husband returned the morning of my scheduled induction, so the day he came home from Afghanistan was the day we went to the hospital. 16 hours and a c-section later, we had our beautiful little boy, Benjamin. Being a parent has changed my life. I’ve learned to be more patient; that it’s possible to operate on two hours of sleep, and I’ve also learned that I never really knew what stress was until I experienced a baby crying inconsolably for four hours straight. I’ve learned that looking at my son sleeping in my arms can move me to tears, that I never really loved anyone the way I love my him, and that all of the hard times can be completely wiped away with one little smile. The last four months have been an incredible journey, and I can’t wait to share the rest of it with you!

Jogging Mama

I have recently taken up jogging. I’m a nut when it comes to my body and pregnancy took it’s toll. I gained about 20 pounds while pregnant which I was determined to lose before Abigail turned one and her daddy returned from deployment. Before I go any further I would like to say that I have dropped those 20 lbs, plus another 5!! Wahoo!

Anyways, back to jogging. I had the worst time figuring out which stroller I wanted. Everyone recommended BOB strollers. They are supposed to be top notch for running, jogging, and working out with baby in general. I would love to eventually get into marathon running but for now my asthma is still a huge hurdle. I haven’t had it act up since high school so it’s kind of annoying.

I just needed a stroller that would be easy and safe. Everything I looked at had a ton of plastic around it like a regular stroller. To me this seemed strange. I imagine a stroller like a running shoe. It should be comfortable, flexible, and breathable. The price difference between a stroller with and without the plastic was about $100. I figured I would go with my gut and buy the more expensive stroller since I planned on using it a lot anyways.

So I coughed up $400 on a BOB Revolution SE stroller. She’s awesome and I couldn’t imagine anything better. I went with the revolution SE because I wanted the swivel wheel not the stationary one. This was I can use it for other purposes other than running. I heard that stationary wheels are awful for turning.

A great benefit to paying so much money? It’s a huge push out the door since I hate wasting money! And baby girl loves enjoying her fresh air with mama.

I’m not much of a jogger, but I have the double BOB Revolution. I love that stroller! I got a cheaper, fixed front wheel jogger with my first, and it’s fine, but it’s no BOB. My youngest two are both about thirty pounds these days, and it still pushes like a dream. Love it! I’m glad to hear you like yours too :)

BOB’s are definitely the smoothest strollers ever. I went for a walk with my daughter today and I kept telling my husband that I really can’t believe how smooth it is lol.
