Baby Baller
And now, the Celtics’ new star forward Isaac Moore steals the ball and makes a sweet 3 pointer. This rookie may only be 3 feet tall, but he’s got game!
Yeah, but I can dream, ok? (:
Chris recently taught Isaac how to dunk a basketball in the front yard (with a little help, of course), and now the kid is all about it.
“Basketball, basketball, basketball!” is repeated constantly until anyone taller than him gives in and hoists Isaac up to make his shot.
Of course it’s cute to watch, and I am happy that my son is getting interested in sports. As you all know his obsessions usually have 4-wheels and say zoom or choo choo or beep, so this is a big step for Isaac.
He loves the water and swimming just like Mommy, but has never been that into land-based sports like soccer, baseball, basketball, etc. Maybe he is too young, but even throwing or kicking a ball sounds like fun to a toddler, right?
Maybe not; Isaac will knock out a couple throws and/or kicks when handed a ball, but then he will get distracted and wander off. “No more sports, I’d rather chase the dogs or eat this june bug.”
So this is why I am thrilled that there is a another athletic game my baby baller enjoys besides swimming. Unfortunately basketball is one of the few sports I am not that good at, so it’s up to his dad to teach him, haha.
I can be in charge of cross country, track, swimming (obviously), lacrosse, football, softball, tennis, soccer, volleyball, field hockey, and kickball, not too shabby. Yes dear, your mommy was an athlete back in the day before you came along (:
Maybe I should get Isaac a little play basketball net and stand for kids instead of trying to lift him up to make his slam dunks every 5 seconds on the adult-sized one, that might work better. I will keep an eye out at the local yard sales…
Has your child(ren) picked up any new sports lately? What sports are you excited to teach them?
