Spring Break or Bust!
All of our bags are packed and we are ready to go! I have always been amazed at the amount of things I consider a necessity when going on a trip, but Braylin has me beat by a long shot! For such a tiny human being she requires a lot of stuff to get through a week away from home.
I have practically packed everything that the child owns… just in case! I think it is harder to pack when you are driving somewhere, because you feel like you have more room than if you were to fly somewhere. I mean, do I really need two strollers? I don’t think so, but you never know what you will get into so far from home.
If you are wondering where we are going… Braylin and I are going to Asheville to meet my best friends since childhood (Braylin’s aunts) for a girl’s getaway! One of my friends is a teacher in FL and it is her spring break so we are all referring to it as Spring Break! Come to think of it… Braylin’s first Spring Break! To this point in her life, the furthest Braylin and I have travelled solo is to Wilmington, so this 6+ hour trip should be the test of all tests.
If it is possible to over prepare for a road trip, I have. Aside from the massive amount of things I packed, I have mapped out all of the stops that I think we will need to make during our trip. On top of the normal food stops, I know that I will need to stop several times along the way to get B out of her car seat (I imagine her little bum will, “fall asleep” after a couple of hours in that hard thing). I know that might sound a little extreme, but I am also a little paranoid about getting us lost.
Wish us luck!
