Creepy Toys
I think I may have been exposed to the movie, “Chucky” too early in life. Frankly, I don’t know that any age is appropriate for that movie. Anyway, since I watched that movie there are some toys that I haven’t been able to look at the same way.
The other night, I was reading in the living room when I kept hearing this beeping noise (it sounded like a car horn was coming from the hallway). I went to investigate the situation and I found a toy car in B’s room with the horn stuck “honking.” She had been asleep for a while, so I have no idea how it started honking or how she slept through it, but it happened. It was kind of creepy.
Since then, I have been sure to turn all of her toys that make noise to silent mode as soon as she is finished playing with them. That experience also made me think about the different toys that B is going to accumulate over the years.
So far, all of her toys are developmental type toys, but I know the time will come when she will get/ want baby dolls. You know those baby dolls that have the eyes that close when you lay them down? I don’t know that B will ever be able to have one of those, they really give me the heebee jeebee’s!
You may be thinking that I am crazy and I completely agree with you on some level. I had those dolls when I was little and I loved them, but Chucky totally ruined them for me.
Do your children have any toys that seem creepy?
