I Dread Packing
Packing is no fun. Growing up, my dad was always traveling, but he never packed his own bags, my mom always did
that for him. I secretly hoped that someday my husband would do the same for me, and then I realized what he would probably pack (or not pack) for me and quickly decided that I would take care of that duty on my own.
Now, instead of having someone pack for me, I find myself packing for not only me but, Braylin, Layla (the dog), and nine times out of ten, Ryan. For this trip, I have informed Ryan that he can’t pull his usual, “Hey, can you throw some stuff in a bag for me?” and instead of going to a sitter, Layla’s sitter is coming to her, so that is two bags out of my way. I will be easy to pack for, because sadly, I haven’t lost all of my “baby weight,” so I only have a few outfits that even fit.
On to the more complicated bag(s) to pack… Little Miss Braylin. Fellow blogger, Erin Carey wrote about packing for her baby a few months ago and she seems to have struggled with the same thing that I am. Do I take EVERYTHING that the kid owns or the bare necessities? Being that it costs an arm and a leg to fly bags, I am voting for bare necessities. As long as we have a car seat, warm clothes, and toys I think we will survive. One smart move I made was taking advantage of free shipping and sent diapers and wipes to my parents’ house, so that we won’t have to worry with those bulky items.
Am I the only person that gets this stressed over packing?
