A Challenge to my Fellow Bloggers
Last week I was strolling through a few of my favorite blogs and I came across one of them that had a FABULOUS idea!! I loved it so much!! She pointed out how much fun it is to look back on pictures of your parents when they were young parents themselves. How often were your parents in the pictures, especially your mom? I don’t know about anyone else, but my mom was rarely in ANY pictures of us growing up. I remember her always saying that she didn’t want her pictures taken because she was too overweight, or too messy, or her hair wasn’t fixed, or whatever else the excuse was that day.I DO, however, remember the pictures that I have seen of her and they are my absolute favorites!! Some of them she’s all made up, some of them not so much but regardless, those were the faces of my mom I remember as a kid and those are the faces I want to KEEP remembering long after she’s gone.
This particular blogger challenged us as parents and more specifically, mothers, to take more pictures of ourselves with our kids regardless of how we look or feel. She created a fun idea where she hosts a day each week called “embrace the camera” on her blog and posts pictures of herself WITH her kids. They aren’t all posed, they aren’t perfect, some are blurry, some are off centered, some have a messy house in the background, but still, she posts them.
I immediately fell in LOVE with this idea and have implemented the program on my own personal blog. I thought it would be fun if we tried to do this idea more on this blog as well. Not necessarily posting on a specific day, but just more often, posting pictures of ourselves WITH our kids. As fun as it is to see pictures of my parents when I was young, I love seeing other pictures of parents having fun with their kids too!!
Whadya say?! I dare you!!!
