Water Addiction

Recently, my little Izey guy has been totally digging water. It all started on our trip to Texas. Being in the car for 20 hours straight made it pretty hard to keep cold milk on hand and being that Izey is allergic to ALL milk except Rice Dream, which most gas stations don’t carry, we weren’t able to keep him stocked with his favorite beverage. Instead, we kept filling up his bottle with water and to our surprise; he actually prefers it over rice dream!
Isaak likes water SO much, that if I give him Rice Dream in his bottle or cup anymore, he refuses to drink it. He ONLY wants water. I am LOVING this about him!! I honestly think that very few children are drinking enough water these days. I read in some magazine that almost ¾ of all children are dehydrated and don’t even know it! It seems their bottles or sippy cups are always filled with milk or juice instead, so to have such an avid water drinker makes me super proud.
The down side to the water addiction is the constant wet diapers. I’m probably changing his diaper three times as much as I was before and it never fails, every morning he’s soaked wet with pee. Obviously, the water goes right through you as opposed to milk, where a portion sticks to your innards!
I’m not complaining though, it’s better for his overall health, especially his teeth, and it forms good habits for the future. I’m enjoying every minute of listening to my toddler say to me, “Wah-Wah Peeeeeeze!!!”
